Longfellow, Bath

Working on this rear extension in the charming Poets Corner area of Bath was a truly rewarding experience. It provided us with the opportunity to breathe new life into a characterful Edwardian terrace, blending its historical charm with the comforts and functionality of contemporary living.

Stuart’s design focused on creating a seamless connection between the old and the new, with a striking cedar-clad extension that adds warmth, texture, and a distinctly modern edge to the traditional Bath Ashlar of the original structure. Stuart reimagined the existing layout, transforming the once segmented ground floor into an open, light-filled space that not only looks beautiful but supports the daily rhythms of family life.

The renovation includes a sleek new kitchen tailored for both practicality and social gatherings, luxurious underfloor heating for year-round comfort, and thoughtful updates throughout that elevate every corner of the home. From the considered flow of spaces to the quality of finishes, this project represents a careful balance between preservation and innovation—an Edwardian terrace thoughtfully extended and renovated to meet the needs of modern living.
